PLANO, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Cinemark Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: CNK), a leader in the motion picture exhibition industry, announced today that tickets for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be available for purchase on cinemark.com at 12:01 a.m. EST, Monday, November 28 (11:01 p.m. CST and 9:01 p.m. PST, Sunday, November 27). As an added bonus, fans who purchase tickets to see the movie in Cinemark's XD auditoriums on Thursday, December 15 will receive an exclusive Rogue One collectible movie poster, while supplies lasts.

"Fans across the country have been eagerly awaiting this legendary franchise's newest film," stated James Meredith, Cinemark's SVP, Marketing and Communications. "Cinemark welcomes all movie-goers to conveniently purchase their tickets at cinemark.com. There's no better place to see Rogue One than in one of Cinemark's XD auditoriums."

All tickets must be physically picked up in-store prior to December 18. If you have questions, please email any of our friendly staffers at sales@justgamesroc.com and may the force be with you!

Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the biggest domestic opener of all time at $247,966,675, sold about 30 million tickets over its first three and a half days -- meaning each of those seats got used about once, on average.

The Rogue One Ultimate Ticket runs $100 plus shipping and can be bought only on the web via Regal's website. It takes 2-3 weeks to arrive, so you'll most likely still need your individual tickets for the opening weekend in 16-17 days. Each card has to be ordered separately, as they're personalized. Yes, that personalization means they're also non-transferable: you'll have to show photo ID when you're picking up your ticket at the box office for admission.

So how much is this actually worth? Well, the last Regal Ultimate Ticket was for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which was in theaters for a total of 12 weeks. If you saw the movie once a week for 12 weeks, at an average of around $15 (if you split viewings between the different formats), that's $180 worth of tickets. Of course, Star Wars: The Force Awakens was in theaters for double the time - 24 weeks, so you could as much as double that, especially taking into account the lack of major blockbusters in January and February that should keep momentum going for Rogue One. And that's all, of course, based on only going once a week, while you can absolutely go more often if you like. At $20 a pop for IMAX, you only need to see it five times to pay for the card in the large format screens.

with that in mind, you can imagine my utter glee as i read the email that i received from slidestar gallery a few months ago asking me to partner with them to create official artwork in support of the newest star wars movie, "rogue one". with my enthusiasm for the film already at a fever pitch, i had to take a few breaths before replying with an emphatic "yes."

my assignment was to create a series of three interlocking, collectible tickets that would be given out at regal IMAX screenings of the film. pinched on time and not willing to let this opportunity pass by, i completed a concept sketch (see below) while traveling. i chose to focus each individual ticket on an imperial trooper, with the newly-introduced hovertank driver and death trooper joining the classic stromtrooper to round out the trilogy of images.

now that advance tickets for "rogue one" are on sale (i just got mine!), i'm excited to finally be able to share this project. it is completely surreal and rewarding to be able to create a tiny piece of that galaxy far, far away that means so much to me.

In the first day of sales, over 75 percent of all tickets purchased through MovieTickets.com were for the new Star Wars film, and unlike last year, there have been no reported outages due to crashed servers. IMAX reports that the movie is currently dominating its early sales as well.

Star Wars fandom has once again hit truly feverish levels, since the release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is just around the corner and pre-sale tickets recently became available. Despite the tremendous excitement surrounding the very first ever Star Wars spinoff, fans can't help but look ahead to Star Wars Episode VIII. So the question is, when will we see the first trailer for Star Wars 8? Fans had hoped it would maybe be attached to Star Wars: Rogue One upon release and that almost certainly won't be the case. But the Star Wars Episode VIII trailer may still land in front of Rogue One in the near future. Allow us to explain.

Not so much in the age of the internet, but this is a strategy that has been used before. Years ago, the trailers for both Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: Return of the Jedi were attached to re-releases of the previous entry in the franchise. That brought fans out in droves to see the movie again, if for no other reason than to see the trailer for the next installment. Similarly, thousands of Star Wars fans bought tickets for the Brad Pitt movie Meet Joe Black in 1998 just so they could see the trailer for Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. It will be more difficult to pull off in the modern age, but if anyone can do it, Disney can.
